Bytes after the last complete record of an append-log store that restart discarded: an entry cut short, zero fill, or a final entry whose checksum fails. Such an append was interrupted before its file sync, so it was never acknowledged. Restart truncates the journal to offset and syncs it. A damaged entry followed by other data is not a torn tail; restart refuses it as History(IntegrityMismatch) and leaves the journal unchanged.

Fields (Non-exhaustive)

Non-exhaustive structs could have additional fields added in future. Therefore, non-exhaustive structs cannot be constructed in external crates using the traditional Struct { .. } syntax; cannot be matched against without a wildcard ..; and struct update syntax will not work.

offset: u64

Journal length after truncation: the end of the last complete record.

discarded_bytes: u64

Bytes removed from the end of the journal.
